I am so happy to be back in NYC, I can’t even tell you!!

It was honestly the best flight I’ve ever had – I watched four great movies and wrote 7,000 words, plus had some really decent (for airplane) food. Our second flight was delayed by two hours, so that was a bit of a bummer, but besides that, we left at 11:00am, and were home in time for dinner! (Yay, international date line.)

We had great chinese food for the first time in eight months, which was delightful. After hanging out and watching cable, we went to sleep and slept easily through the night – how fantastic! This morning, I woke up and headed right to SoHo for a yoga class with the beautiful, amazing and always brilliant Chrissy Carter.

It was so great to see her, and she was truly radiant as always. She taught a lovely class with a really fun handstand variation that was fun to try but just didn’t work for me – something to keep playing with. Afterwards, I went up to Whole Foods to greet my best friend, Colin!

I was so tempted to have lunch at Whole Foods, but Colin had a better idea – Angelica’s Kitchen. I’ve heard about it hundreds of times, but never actually been there. I am so happy we went, as it was insanely, incredibly delicious.

Angelica’s Kitchen puts its focus on having sustainably grown ingredients that are all completely vegan, and is 95% organic. Everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered the picnic plate, which was a “pick 5″ of some of their delights. Mine was loaded with hummus, walnut-lentil pesto, roasted scarlet turnip, marinated kale, and hijiki and arame salad. I enjoy this with a cup of tea and lentil soup.

Colin ordered the pear and quince pie for desert, which he said was excellent.

Aftewards, we headed over to Joe for some espresso (decaf!) for me, and a cortado for him. Best coffee in NYC, in my opinion.

Afterwards, I headed straight home, and helped prepare Thanksgiving dinner. Then, we had the night on the couch and just vegged – delightful.
