This has been the cycle of my entire week.
I cough, wheeze, go back to bed, feel better, go to work.
Then, within a few hours, I cough and wheeze as soon as I get home.
Even though I was pumped to finally get back to the gym and on my bike today, I woke up this morning and just knew I needed even more rest. It sucks, as I really haven’t done a great work-out in three weeks, but when we tried to go for a walk this morning, within two blocks, I felt exhausted, and so we just turned around. I am now joyfully holed up under a blanket, with the heater blowing at my feet and my gorgeous man sitting with me. Plan is to rest for the majority of the day, so we can take a nice bike ride tomorrow.
Breakfast today was a winner winner chicken dinner – about 3/4 a cup of lentil 5 vegetable curry with brussels sprouts and two egg whites. Totally delicious and filling. I also had two cups of broth, which definitely helped my aching throat.
Puppy Talk
It’s so hard to believe that little Chewbacca will be here in six days. Six days!
Since (finally) she has been vet checked, inoculated, and barring anything horrible, all is well and she will arrive in six days, I thought I could finally share some photos.
Here she is at 4 weeks.

Isn’t she gorgeous?! Can’t wait to see her in a few short days!

You need your momma’s chicken soup. Here’s the recipe:
1 whole chicken (about 3 lbs)
2 celery stalks
1 medium onion, peeled and quartered
2 leeks
4 carrots, cut in thirds
1 parsnip, peeled and cut in thirds
1 or 2 sprigs of dill
Salt and pepper to taste
Put all ingredients in a pot and add enough water to just cover slightly.
Bring to a boil and skim off scum
Reduce heat, cover pot, leaving slightly ajar
Simmer for 1-1/2 hours.
Let cool and skim fat from top.
ENJOY!
